Minimum Hiring Wage:

From $145,061.53 a year

Job Details:

Variable Day Shifts | Will Oversee Multiple Departments for Critical Care and Cardiovascular Services Including: Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, Heart & Vascular, Respiratory Therapy & Sleep Lab.

BSN required, MSN preferred, CCRN preferred. 5-7 years progressive leadership in critical care or cardiovascular services. Experience with critical care, respiratory therapy services, Cath lab, and sleep lab preferred.

Job Description:

A Brief Overview

Provides direction and leadership for care delivery in the assigned unit(s). Plans and implements nursing budgets, monitors nursing productivity reports and collaborates with other leaders to facilitate favorable financial performance. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards and evidence-based practices, and ensures compliance. Supervises staff and plays an integral role in departmental operations, including but not limited to; recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, promoting, discharging, assigning work, evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining. Actively supports and participates in shared governance.

What you will do

  • Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services (as appropriate), and coordinating financial reporting.
  • Consult with medical staff, to discuss service problems, respond to community needs, enhance public relations, coordinate activities and plans, and promote health programs.
  • Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures for the facility or department
  • Develop and maintain computerized record management systems to store and process data such as personnel activities and information, and to produce reports.
  • Develop or expand and implement healthcare programs or health services that promote use of evidence-based practices, rehabilitation, and community health.
  • Establish, monitor and manage quality indicators and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Direct or conduct recruitment, hiring and training of personnel.
  • Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of medical, nursing, technical, clerical, service, maintenance, and/or other personnel.
  • Establish objectives and evaluative or operational criteria for units they manage.
  • Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space and equipment availability.
  • Inspect facilities and recommend building or equipment modifications to ensure emergency readiness and compliance to access, safety, and infection control regulations.
  • Maintain awareness of advances in healthcare, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, government regulations, health insurance changes, and financing options.
  • Monitor the use of diagnostic services, inpatient beds, facilities, and staff to ensure effective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff, equipment, and services.
  • Plan, implement and administer programs and services in a health care or medical facility, including personnel administration, training, and coordination of staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (AA) in Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in health-related field Required
  • Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) in health-related field Preferred
  • 4-6 years Previous nursing leadership experience Required
  • Proficiency in clinical decision making and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft products Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Registered Nurse Iowa Board of Nursing (IBON) (United States of America) Required
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider- American Heart Association Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support- American Heart Association Preferred

Qualifications:

Must have 4-6 years experience in area of responsibility
