Job Description

Partner with internal and external wholesaler and/or advisor to uncover advanced cases, then prepare a sales strategy to assist high net worth and small business owner clients to use life insurance or annuities to accomplish their advanced / complex planning goals. Prepare and conduct sales training presentations and speaking engagements on advanced topics to insurance and annuity wholesalers, advisors and clients via both small and large groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal and external wholesaler and/or advisor to uncover advanced cases, then prepare a sales strategy to assist high net worth and small business owner clients to use life insurance or annuities to accomplish their advanced / complex planning goals. This includes working with client centers of influence as needed. This can happen through case appointments in the field or through Teams for wholesalers and advisors.

  • Prepare and conduct sales training presentations and speaking engagements on advanced topics to insurance and annuity wholesalers, advisors and clients via both small and large groups.

  • Partner with insurance, annuities, AMP Higher Net Worth team, financial planning, personal trust and other Ameriprise departments to partner on strategy and content development that will assist the development of advanced strategies for key initiatives that can increase client engagement and advisor productivity.

  • Assist marketing team in the development of advanced sales strategies, training decks and seminars. In addition, monitor legal and tax developments that may affect the company's insurance and annuity products, strategies and/or services. As subject matter experts on advanced insurance and annuity concepts, this role will have interactions with insurance and annuity marketing, financial planning and corporate marketing, etc. to provide ideas, input and content for project initiatives.

  • Manage sales practices in a compliant manner. Complete required coursework in order to maintain compliant with state and federal regulations and licenses.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

  • 7 - 10 years relevant experience.

  • Juris Doctorate required.

  • 3 - 5 years of working in advanced markets and with high-net-worth clients.

  • Series 7.

  • State securities agent registration (S63 or S66).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills.

  • In-depth technical knowledge on estate, business and charitable planning as well as general financial planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate insurance products into advanced financial plans/sales process.

  • Upon hire, obtain Territory Sates Securities & Territory States Insurance License (Health, Life & Variable)

In-Office Collaboration

Our employees in this role work in the office at least three (3) days per week (including every Friday on site), with flexibility to work from home two (2) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $150,000 - $206,300 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
