About the role
As the Director of Communications, you will lead Empatica's external communications strategy, shaping how our company, technology, and impact are understood across healthcare audiences, including large pharma companies, hospital systems, clinicians, and patients. You will drive our brand visibility and position Empatica as a thought leader in digital health and wearable technology.
The role works closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support business growth, product innovation, and thought leadership in digital health.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy aligned with company goals and brand positioning
- Lead corporate messaging, narrative development, and brand voice across all external channels
- Oversee development of high-impact external content, including press releases, media materials, blog posts, executive bylines, presentations, and case studies
- Build and manage strong relationships with national, healthcare, technology, and trade media
- Drive proactive media outreach, press strategy, announcements, and executive visibility opportunities
- Identify and secure speaking engagements, awards, and thought leadership opportunities for company leaders
- Serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior leadership, including preparation for interviews, panels, and public appearances
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Clinical, Regulatory, and Leadership teams to support product launches, research publications, partnerships, and company milestones
- Manage agency partners and external PR vendors as needed
- Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and competitive positioning to inform strategy
- Define and track key performance metrics for communications impact and regularly report results to leadership
