About the PositionCapital Hospice & Palliative Care LLC is seeking an experienced Director of Education to lead clinical education, new-hire orientation, competency training, and ongoing staff development for our hospice team.This is a hybrid office and field-based position. The Director will provide education in the office and accompany clinical staff in patient homes and healthcare facilities to provide hands-on training, evaluate competencies, and support quality patient care.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and conduct new-hire orientation and clinical training.Provide ongoing education on hospice care, documentation, safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.Accompany nurses, CNAs, and other clinical staff during field visits.Evaluate clinical competencies and provide coaching and remediation.Develop and maintain competency checklists and training records.Provide education related to pain and symptom management, medication management, care planning, and patient safety.Identify training needs through chart reviews, field observations, incidents, and quality improvement activities.Assist with QAPI activities, regulatory compliance, accreditation preparation, and survey readiness.Work closely with the Administrator, Clinical Director, Clinical Managers, and Quality Assurance team.Develop educational materials, presentations, competency tools, and in-service programs.Maintain accurate employee education and competency documentation.QualificationsCurrent Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience.Hospice or home health experience strongly preferred.Previous experience in clinical education, staff development, precepting, or nursing management preferred.BSN preferred.Strong teaching, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to work in both office and field environments.Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for an RN who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, hospice care, and developing strong clinical teams. The ideal candidate is confident providing hands-on education in patient-care settings and can effectively identify and address staff training needs.
