This is a hands-on position that is well suited for a finance professional who enjoys working in a growing, entrepreneurial organization and wants to play an important role in building the financial infrastructure of a professional sports organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor cash flow, financial commitments, and departmental spending while helping ensure the Club maintains appropriate financial controls and processes.
  • Oversee the Club's payroll process and coordinate with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries, commissions, bonuses, and other compensation.
  • Partner with Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Merchandise, Academy, Stadium Operations, and other departments to analyze revenue, expenses, and the financial performance of key business initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary internal finance contact for the Club's external accounting and tax providers, reviewing financial information, coordinating requests, and ensuring timely resolution of financial matters.
  • Work closely with department leaders and executive management to provide financial guidance, evaluate opportunities, identify risks, and support sound business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial and employee information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in professional sports, entertainment, events, hospitality, or another multi-revenue business.
  • Experience in FP&A or business finance.
  • Experience overseeing payroll administration.
  • Experience working with outsourced accounting firms or other external financial service providers.
  • Experience building budgets, financial models, and management reporting.
  • CPA, MBA, or other relevant professional designation is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with financial, payroll, HRIS, ticketing, CRM, and other business management systems.

Compensation

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Additional benefits, including game tickets, team merchandise, and participation in team events.
