Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Neurovascular, is recruiting a Director of Global Strategic Marketing to join our team.  This position is located in Irvine, California. This position follows a hybrid schedule which reports on-site 2-3 times a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Ischemic Product Pipeline: Shape and deliver short- and long-term pipeline strategy in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Provide leadership and direction for the Ischemic product strategy and design product enhancements based on customer/stakeholder requirements, as well as external business development opportunities.

Contributes to top level decisions and considers value proposition, market landscape, and the target audience to make compelling business cases.

New Product Launch: Provide leadership for regional Ischemic new product launches. Ensure collaboration with regional marketing teams to execute NPD. Drive the cross-functional and cross-organizational delivery of the strategy and global product portfolio marketing plans.

Customer Relationships:  Build strong customer relationships globally. Ensure voice of customer is central to all global product decisions.  

Inspire a customer focused culture: Understands and anticipates customer needs. Ensures that appropriate customer input is gathered and incorporated for new and existing products.

Team Leadership: Lead a marketing team, provide guidance and direction to ensure that all marketing initiatives are aligned with the company’s overall goals.

Accountable for talent development of the team through meaningful development conversations and provide regular coaching/feedback. Develop a strong talent bench, implement workforce and succession plans to meet business needs.

Operational management: Responsible for managing operational aspects of their teams (e.g., budget, performance, and compliance).

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or equivalent preferred

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Ten years of medical device or pharmaceutical product marketing or related commercial experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in constructing global market models to estimate project value and select optimal projects amongst alternatives
  • Skilled with assessing key financial metrics including NPV, Gross Profit, P&L statements and basic accounting
  • Ability to lead qualitative and quantitative market research to identify market segments, product value drivers and uncover strategic opportunities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating value propositions, using innovative marketing approaches in alignment with traditional tactics, and deploying metrics to identify business impact
  • Leverages a deep understanding of stakeholder input, market preferences by segment, and the decision-making process to identify unmet needs and market trends
  • Track record of success in utilizing stakeholder insights to influence internal and external stakeholders to overcome resistance, create opportunities and drive results
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers (physicians), senior leaders and internal stakeholders with demonstrated presentation skills
  • Cycle of success in driving execution by leveraging and integrating cross-functional support for launch, post-launch dashboards and measurement tools to deliver commercial product introductions
  • People leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Neurovascular experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with vascular medical devices
  • Proficient in the application of generative AI models to enhance Marketing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Experience in development of full Net Present Value valuation models
  • General working knowledge of quantitative marketing research tools including conjoint, NPS, max diff among others
  • Global product launch experience

  • Position requires 20% domestic and international travel
