Director Of Healthcare Facilities

Job Summary: Director of Healthcare Facilities Management is responsible for the operation, maintenance, renovation and code compliance of all facilities and provides guidance and supervision of the Maintenance, Construction, Biomedical Service, and Contract Management departments. This is evidenced by work behavior which ensures safety, promotes dignity, respect and well-being, and exemplifies healthy relationships. Population Specific Requirements: Demonstrates knowledge and skill necessary to provide service based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety criteria for adults, pediatrics, adolescent, geriatric, age groups in his or her area of service. Exposure Control Classification: Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is not reasonably anticipated. Normal work routine does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. Supervises: Biomed Supervisor, Housekeeping Manager, Carpenter, Lead Carpenter, Lead Mech Electrician, Lead Mechanic, Mech II Groundskeeper, Mechanic II, Painter. Minimum Experience: 3 years of Healthcare Facilities Management experience. Familiarity with health care regulatory standards and applicable building codes. Proven positive leadership outcomes based on previous supervisory/management experience. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity, multi-cultural health system. Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Familiarity with JCAHO, NYSDOH and related regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point. Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point. Minimum: BS degree or an AS degree with a minimum of 5 years director experience Preferred: MS Degree License: NYS Driver's license clears of violations per FLH Policy Certifications: CHFM (Certified Health Care Facility Manager).
