About the Role:

The Director of HR Compliance & Immigration is responsible for leading our global HR compliance framework, immigration strategy, global mobility programs, and statutory pay equity reporting obligations. This role ensures compliance with international labor laws with respect to immigration regulations, mobility requirements, and global pay transparency and equity mandates - while designing scalable, future-ready programs that enable business growth and global expansion. This leader partners closely with Legal, Total Rewards, Payroll, Finance, Talent Acquisition, and regional HR teams to mitigate risk, maintain operational excellence, and support a compliant, and scalable global workforce strategy.

What You'll Do:

Global HR Compliance & Governance

  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive global HR compliance framework across all regions.
  • Ensure compliance with international, federal, and local labor laws and employment regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into actionable HR policies and operational processes.
  • Lead compliance reviews, internal audits, and risk assessments related to workforce practices.
  • Establish governance standards and documentation protocols to ensure audit readiness.
  • Oversee employee data privacy compliance in partnership with Legal (e.g., GDPR and other regional privacy requirements).

Global Pay Equity & Statutory Reporting

  • Lead compliance with statutory pay equity reporting obligations, including but not limited to:

  • Australia WGEA reporting

  • UK Pay Gap reporting

  • EU Pay Transparency Directive requirements

  • Ontario and Quebec Pay Equity

  • U.S. federal/state pay reporting (e.g., EEO-1, state-level pay data reporting)

  • Other country-specific pay equity disclosures and pay transparency regulations

  • Partner with Total Rewards and Analytics to conduct global pay equity analyses and remediation planning.

  • Ensure data integrity, validation, and submission accuracy for all statutory reporting.

  • Provide executive-level insights and risk assessments related to pay equity trends.

  • Support the development of global pay transparency strategies aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.

Global Statutory Compensation and Benefits Compliance

  • Partner with Total Rewards and Payroll to ensure compensation programs, policies and systems are designed and maintained to accommodate country specific statutory requirements (e.g. mandatory payments and allowances, overtime regulations, statutory leave entitlements, social insurance contributions etc.)

Immigration Strategy & Operations

  • Lead the global immigration strategy to support workforce planning and business expansion, including drafting immigration and sponsorship guidelines.
  • Oversee visa sponsorship process, work authorization, and compliance tracking processes.
  • Manage external immigration counsel and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure timely filings, documentation compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Advise business leaders on immigration risks, timelines, and workforce planning implications.

Global Mobility

  • Develop and manage global mobility programs, including:

  • International assignments

  • Relocations

  • Short-term and commuter assignments

  • Cross-border remote work arrangements

  • Partner with Tax, Payroll, and Finance to ensure compliance with cross-border tax, social security, and compensation regulations.

  • Monitor and mitigate permanent establishment and co-employment risks.

  • Evaluate mobility trends and recommend policy enhancements to support talent strategy and cost management.

Risk Management & Regulatory Advisory

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across employment law, pay equity, immigration, and mobility domains.
  • Lead remediation efforts where compliance gaps are identified.
  • Develop executive reporting dashboards on compliance, pay equity, immigration, and mobility metrics.
  • Serve as the primary HR compliance advisor to senior leadership.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global team.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across HR, Legal, Finance, Payroll, and Talent Acquisition.
  • Provide training and guidance to HR and business leaders on global compliance and pay equity requirements.
  • Provide ongoing advisory support on country specific regulations during global expansion, M&A activity and program roll-outs.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, or related field (Master's or JD preferred).

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience with significant experience in:

  • Global employment compliance

  • Pay equity and statutory reporting

  • Immigration and mobility programs

  • Government contracting requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing WGEA, UK Pay Gap, and other global pay reporting requirements.

  • Deep understanding of global labor laws and regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience conducting pay analyses in partnership with Total Rewards.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management experience.

  • Experience in a multinational, high-growth, or publicly traded organization.

  • Familiarity with global HRIS, compensation analytics tools, and case management systems.
