Director of InformaticsLocation: Waimea, HISalary: $150,000$160,000 per year Lead Healthcare Innovation Through Clinical Informatics!Are you an experienced healthcare informatics leader ready to make a meaningful impact on patient care, clinical technology, and healthcare operations? We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Informatics to lead clinical informatics initiatives across a regional healthcare system in Waimea, Hawaii.This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a professional who understands the connection between clinical practice, information technology, and data-driven decision-making. You will play a key role in optimizing electronic health record (EHR) systems, improving clinical workflows, supporting patient safety, and driving technology initiatives that enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Lead EHR governance, implementation, optimization, and long-term strategy.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, physicians, nursing teams, IT professionals, and other clinical departments.
- Develop and implement standardized clinical workflows and decision-support tools.
- Drive clinical innovation, process improvement, and technology adoption across the organization.
- Oversee clinical data analytics, reporting, data integrity, and governance.
- Lead change management initiatives, staff education, and training programs.
- Ensure clinical informatics systems support patient safety, quality improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and applicable healthcare regulations.
- Supervise, mentor, and support informatics professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
- Master's degree in Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, Nursing Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field. Relevant substitutions may be considered.
- Current Hawaii RN license or current Hawaii physician license (MD or DO).
- 57 years of healthcare informatics or related experience.
- At least 2.5 years of clinical or technical experience in a critical access hospital.
- Minimum of 3 years of managerial supervisory experience.
- At least one qualifying professional certification at the time of hire, such as CPHIMS, CAHIMS, ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC), Clinical Informatics Board Certification, an applicable AHIMA certification, PMP, or a qualifying health data analytics certification listed for the position.
- Experience with EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or Oracle Health.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 and FHIR.
- Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Epic Cognito.
- Experience leading large-scale healthcare technology projects and clinical workflow transformations.
- Strong strategic thinking, communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
