Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEWThe Director of Marketing will lead the Marketing Team, including three demand generation teams: Direct, Partner Channels, and Customer. This role exists to drive pipeline and hit revenue goals – full stop. You are accountable for marketing’s contribution to the number, and you will build, coach, and hold your team to that standard. Collaborating closely with Sales and Product, you will craft a compelling multi-year demand generation strategy, content, and offerings tailored to key buyer personas throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition to retention and expansion. You bring both demand generation depth and product marketing experience, enabling you to connect market positioning to pipeline in a way that drives real revenue impact.As the primary owner of the marketing-sourced pipeline within FRONTSTEPS, you will drive the strategy and execution of all demand generation programs. These encompass in-person and virtual events, SEM, SEO, content syndication, and lifecycle marketing initiatives. All geared towards boosting market awareness and fueling demand to expedite pipeline and sales growth. Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you have a passion for testing, learning, and iterating. Your approach is data-driven, demonstrating deep expertise in measuring, tracking, and reporting on demand generation programs. You are responsible for not just running the team but evolving the strategy and outpacing the competition. You are also expected to be a confident and proactive user of AI tools, leveraging them to fill capability gaps on your team, accelerate execution, and do more with less without waiting for headcount or budget to solve every problem.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategy Development and Campaign Management

  • Formulate and implement a multi-year demand generation strategy aligned with overall marketing and business objectives, with clear pipeline contribution targets tied directly to revenue goals.
  • Strategize, execute, and optimize multi-channel demand generation campaigns across product lines and geographies to generate high-quality leads.
  • Collaborate with content, design, and digital marketing teams to create compelling, targeted campaign assets.
Lead Generation
  • Implement lead-generation programs to drive the marketing-sourced pipeline for Sales.
  • Leverage both inbound and outbound marketing tactics to capture and nurture leads.
  • Shape the optimal lead scoring and routing approach to enhance lead quality.
Analytics and Reporting
  • Enhance our analytics and technology capabilities to bolster demand generation programs.
  • Set key performance indicators and metrics for demand generation initiatives in alignment with our Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Analyze campaign performance, implement continuous improvement, supported by our marketing and sales analytics teams.
  • Develop clear and succinct narratives that educate and engage senior leadership.
Product Marketing
  • Own or closely partner on core product marketing functions: messaging, positioning, competitive intelligence, and go-to-market launches that equip Sales and feed demand programs.
  • Translate product capabilities into buyer-facing narratives that resonate with target personas and support the pipeline at every stage of the funnel.
  • Develop sales enablement materials, battle cards, one-pagers, and talk tracks that directly support the revenue team’s ability to convert the pipeline.
Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Product and Sales to ensure marketing strategy stays tightly aligned to revenue priorities, adjusting quickly when the market or competitive landscape shifts.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to assess lead quality and make data-driven adjustments to improve conversion rates.
Performs other duties as requested by management.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years of related SaaS marketing experience, with meaningful time spent in both demand generation and product marketing. 
  • 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and work independently.
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrated track record of owning a pipeline number and hitting it. Not just running programs but closing the loop on revenue impact.
  • Product marketing experience: you can write positioning, build a launch plan, and produce sales enablement materials.
  • Confident, hands-on user of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper, or similar) to accelerate content creation, research, reporting, and workflow automation. At FRONTSTEPS, we expect AI to be part of how you and your team operate.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a marketing team. Setting clear expectations, managing performance, and developing talent. Prior people management experience is required.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position oversees the Marketing Team.
Work Environment
  • This position will operate out of our Denver Headquarters, offering great interaction and visibility with our senior leadership team.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
Travel
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on business needs and events.
PAY RANGE & DESCRIPTIONThis position will be based full-time out of our FRONTSTEPS' Denver, CO headquarters and pays $142,500 - $182,500 per year.
