Position OverviewThe Director, Oncology Revenue Cycle Management directs oncology revenue cycle teams and collaborates closely with West Cancer Center leadership, corporate partners, and providers to ensure appropriate billing practices and maximize revenue opportunities. This role is responsible for identifying areas for improvement and implementing programs related to charge capture, charge reconciliation, claims, collections, patient assistance, compliance, clinical documentation, and other revenue-related processes. The Director also assists with managed care contract analysis and negotiation, implementation of new reimbursement models, and coordination of inter-facility contract negotiations, while modeling behavior consistent with West Cancer Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all revenue cycle teams and processes across West Cancer Center and affiliated sites.
• Ensure accurate charge capture, processing, and reconciliation across multiple systems and entities related to oncology services.
• Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle teams to identify revenue enhancement opportunities while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Implement internal compliance audits and assist with external audits; analyze findings and implement safeguards to improve outcomes.
• Review monthly financial and revenue cycle reports with the Finance team to identify trends and revenue capture opportunities.
• Ensure reimbursement aligns with payer contracts and identify opportunities for improvement through revenue cycle processes or managed care agreements.
• Perform contracting and administrative functions on behalf of West Cancer Center.
• Assist with coordination and negotiation of inter-facility and managed care contracts.
• Identify opportunities for new managed care relationships and participate in contract review, negotiation, and analysis.
• Establish and negotiate pricing for out-of-network and new managed care relationships, including development and maintenance of pricing models.
• Assist with education of clinical staff regarding charging practices and follow-up on changes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, healthcare, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible healthcare revenue cycle and management experience.
• Preferred:
• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in healthcare clinical operations and financial management methods and techniques.
• Substitution Allowed:
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible leadership or administrative experience in revenue cycle, patient billing, or finance.

Skills & Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, including managed care, pre-certification, charge and claim processing, and accounts receivable.
• Knowledge of EDI and clearinghouse requirements.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills related to revenue cycle and financial data.
• Knowledge of healthcare clinical operations and financial management practices.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and group presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• High level of results orientation and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access skills.
• Ability to retrieve, organize, and analyze data.
• Ability to facilitate education and training sessions at multiple organizational levels.
