Lead the Operational Engine Behind a Scalable Digital Pharmacy Platform
BaRupOn is seeking an experienced Director of Online Pharmacy Operations to oversee the strategy, compliance framework, and execution of our e-pharmacy services. This role will lead fulfillment workflows, digital systems integration, multi-state regulatory coordination, and patient experience optimization across a growing online pharmacy platform.
The successful candidate will bring deep operational knowledge of high-volume prescription fulfillment, telepharmacy regulations, and digital pharmacy compliance standards. This position requires both regulatory rigor and operational scalability.
Position Summary
The Director of Online Pharmacy Operations will lead the strategy, compliance, and execution of BaRupOn's e-pharmacy services. This role oversees fulfillment workflows, staff coordination, logistics, digital compliance, and patient experience. The director will work closely with IT, pharmacy, and regulatory teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and fully licensed digital pharmacy platform.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Fulfillment Oversight
Direct day-to-day online pharmacy operations, including prescription intake, pharmacist review, fulfillment, and shipment logistics
Oversee staffing models, scheduling, and workflow optimization for high-volume digital prescription processing
Establish SOPs for intake, verification, dispensing, refill management, and delivery coordination
Regulatory & Compliance Governance
Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, telepharmacy laws, DEA standards, and HIPAA/PHI requirements
Oversee NABP digital pharmacy accreditation requirements and multi-state licensing coordination
Maintain audit readiness and regulatory documentation standards
Digital Systems & Technology Integration
Collaborate with IT to optimize order management systems, EMR integrations, secure data transmission, and digital prescription workflows
Monitor system performance, uptime, and cybersecurity safeguards
Support implementation of pharmacy automation and e-commerce enhancements
Performance & Quality Management
Track and analyze operational KPIs including order accuracy, fulfillment speed, refill adherence, and patient satisfaction
Identify process improvements to enhance service reliability and regulatory compliance
Lead quality assurance and error reduction initiatives
Team & Vendor Management
Lead hiring, training, and performance management for online pharmacy staff
Coordinate with third-party pharmacy partners and digital platform vendors
Support expansion planning for multi-state operations
Required Qualifications
PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Pharmacy, or related field
5–7+ years of pharmacy operations experience, including at least 2 years in e-pharmacy, telepharmacy, or digital health fulfillment environments
Direct experience managing high-volume prescription fulfillment workflows
In-depth knowledge of state Board of Pharmacy requirements, DEA compliance, HIPAA standards, and NABP digital pharmacy regulations
Demonstrated leadership experience in operational management and cross-functional collaboration
Experience working with digital pharmacy systems, EMRs, or e-commerce platforms
Preferred Experience
Experience launching or scaling an online or telehealth pharmacy platform
Familiarity with third-party digital pharmacy platforms (e.g., Capsule, NowRx, Alto)
Knowledge of pharmacy automation technologies and fulfillment optimization systems
Multi-state PIC credentials or eligibility preferred
