Aimé Leon Dore is looking for a Director of Product Development, Wovens to join our team, reporting directly to the SVP of Product. Focused primarily on all woven categories: outerwear, bottoms and shirts; this position will work on driving the product development process from concept through hand-off, while continuously communicating with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure superior quality and accuracy of timeline.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all phases of development cycle from initial concept through production hand-off, continually communicating with all vendors on design intent and changes as necessary.
- Partner with Design Team to execute their vision with authenticity and superior quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve design, develop and production processes.
- Work with SVP of Product to implement a development strategy aligned with company goals.
- Maintain first sight of costing for all woven categories to ensure margin expectations are being met or exceeded.
- Oversee the PD WIP, ensuring accuracy of timeline and deliverables.
- Update cross-functional departments on timing, calendar, product updates, approvals, and issues
- Collaborate with Raw Materials, Tech Design and Production as required to see product through to completion.
- Interpret and communicate raw material needs to RM Manager and assist with sourcing.
- Identify new materials and innovative surface techniques to present to the design team.
- Attend fitting with Tech Design for development call outs and notes.
- Manage and drive all initiatives for cost savings, speed, and efficiencies.
- Issue development purchase order requests and updates
- Track departmental spending to anticipate seasonal budget with reporting to SVP of Product
- Mentor and train Development and Raw Materials Assistant
- Handles other responsibilities and projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in Product Development; woven categories preferred.
- Knowledge of raw materials, construction and fit is a must.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- PLM experience necessary, Backbone PLM experience a plus
- Ability multitask and thrive in a high-volume, rapidly changing environment, and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a diverse group of people
Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000
