Job Description

Overview of the role:

InMobi Exchange (IX) is one of the world's largest mobile ad exchanges, serving tens of thousands of apps and delivering more than 100 billion impressions every month. Now, we're making a decisive move into one of the fastest-growing and most transformative sectors in digital advertising - commerce and retail media. We are building a scaled Commerce Exchange from the ground up, and we're looking for a senior product leader who can define this vision end-to-end and turn it into a market-shaping business.

As Director, Product Management- Commerce Exchange, you will own the strategy and full execution for IX's commerce products across retailers, merchants, and retail media networks. Your remit spans buy-side capabilities, commerce and audience data integrations, attribution and measurement solutions, and the acquisition and activation of high-intent omnichannel supply. You will define how IX becomes the most performant, transparent, and measurable environment for commerce advertisers across the full funnel.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the center of IX's next growth chapter. You will partner closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Partnerships to build a differentiated commerce exchange anchored in performance and measurable outcomes, and you will report directly to the VP of Product for IX, working in close alignment with Product Marketing, Measurement, and Data Partnerships. Your depth in ad tech and retail media, combined with your ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity, will directly shape what IX becomes in the commerce era.

This is an onsite role based in either our San Mateo, CA, or New York, NY office, with quarterly travel to our Bangalore, India office.

The impact you'll make:

  • Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for Commerce Exchange, building IX's next scaled growth engine from vision through execution. You will be the primary architect of a platform that bridges the gap between commerce signals and programmatic efficiency.
  • Translate the needs of retailers, merchants, and retail media networks into clear, actionable product requirements that drive measurable and attributable outcomes. By deep-diving into the merchant journey, you will turn complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
  • Lead the development of data, targeting, bidding, and measurement capabilities that strengthen and differentiate IX's position in commerce advertising. Your work will directly influence the next generation of performance-based buying, leveraging high-intent data to drive ROI.
  • Expand and activate omnichannel supply across app and web environments, ensuring strong attribution, optimization, and addressability at scale. You will navigate the complexities of identity and signal loss to ensure seamless delivery across the diverse digital landscape.
  • Partner with Engineering and Design teams to deliver high-quality products with predictable, efficient execution and a clear bar for quality. You will foster a culture of excellence, ensuring that the velocity of innovation matches our market ambitions.
  • Continuously analyze marketplace signals, advertiser performance, and commerce data to surface opportunities for differentiation, expansion, and long-term competitive advantage. You will act as the "intellectual engine" for the commerce business, identifying "blue ocean" opportunities before they become industry standards.

The experience we need:

  • 7+ years of product management experience in advertising technology or retail media, with a strong and demonstrable track record of bringing commerce-driven products to market at scale. We are looking for someone who has lived through the full product lifecycle and understands how to scale from 1 to 100.
  • Deep understanding of programmatic marketplaces, retail media ecosystems, attribution frameworks, data integrations, and addressability solutions.
  • You should be well-versed in the mechanics of RTB and how first-party data is changing the landscape.
  • Strong familiarity with DSPs and commerce-focused buyers, including retailers, merchants, and retail media networks - and how they evaluate and activate against performance.
  • The ability to speak the language of the "performance buyer" and translate those needs into product features is critical.
  • A high-ownership mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to operate with clarity and urgency in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • You are comfortable being the "CEO of your product" and can pivot quickly when marketplace dynamics shift.
  • Exceptional communication skills - the ability to align cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and distill complex technical concepts into clear strategic narratives. You must be as comfortable whiteboarding with engineers as you are presenting a 3-year vision to the executive team.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience. An MBA or MS is a plus. Ideally, you have a background that balances technical rigor with business acumen.
