Position Summary
The Director of Public Relations & Marketing is responsible for leading the public relations, communications, community engagement, and marketing efforts of Health Care Partners of South Carolina. This position promotes organizational visibility, strengthens community relationships, and supports strategic initiatives that advance the mission of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Develops and implements public relations, communications, community engagement, and marketing strategies that support organizational goals and priorities.
· Serves as the primary organizational contact for media relations, public information requests, and external communications.
· Develops and maintains relationships with community leaders, healthcare organizations, governmental agencies, educational institutions, foundations, advocacy groups, and strategic partners.
· Represents Health Care Partners of South Carolina at community meetings, public events, conferences, stakeholder engagement activities, and industry functions.
· Leads public relations initiatives that strengthen organizational awareness, reputation, and community engagement throughout the communities served.
· Oversees community outreach programs, health fairs, special events, sponsorship opportunities, and public engagement initiatives.
· Oversees organizational branding and ensures consistency of messaging across internal and external communications.
· Provides leadership and oversight for public relations, marketing, outreach, and community engagement personnel and activities.
· Develops departmental goals, objectives, budgets, and performance measures and provides regular reports to executive leadership.
· Monitors community health needs, outreach opportunities, and strategic partnerships that support organizational growth, community impact, and access to care.
· Participates in executive leadership meetings, strategic planning initiatives, and organizational committees.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field required.
· Master's degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public relations, communications, community engagement, outreach, marketing, healthcare advocacy, or a related field required.
· Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
· Experience within healthcare, community health centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), nonprofit organizations, or public health organizations strongly preferred.
· Experience managing community engagement initiatives, public relations campaigns, media relations, stakeholder partnerships, and outreach programs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong knowledge of public relations, strategic communications, community engagement, and organizational branding principles.
· Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with community leaders, healthcare organizations, governmental agencies, advocacy groups, foundations, and key stakeholders.
· Strong leadership, supervisory, and team development skills.
· Ability to represent Health Care Partners professionally in public settings and community engagements.
· Experience developing communication strategies, public relations campaigns, and organizational messaging.
· Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, community health initiatives, and healthcare outreach strategies preferred.
· Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, presentation software, communication platforms, and digital communication tools.
· Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and provide recommendations to leadership.
· Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and operate with a high degree of professionalism.
