Job Summary / Description:

The Director of Real Estate Finance leads financial oversight and investment strategy for the organization’s real estate division. This role manages acquisitions, developments, and dispositions, supports capital and debt activities, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides leadership to the finance team. The position collaborates with corporate leadership, including the President, CFO, and Treasury, to drive performance, maximize returns, and implement strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive financial planning through analysis of organizational performance and risk.

  • Manage and coordinate finance and accounting team members’ roles and duties.

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and expense control processes.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage financial audits and internal controls.

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports and present results to leadership and Board committees.

  • Evaluate real estate investment opportunities, including acquisitions, development feasibility, underwriting, and dispositions.

  • Lead due diligence, entitlements, negotiations, and project management for development projects.

  • Track project design through all phases and support construction oversight, including OAC meetings.

  • Collaborate with Treasury and Corporate Finance on capital market activities.

  • Support property management during budget and leasing phases.

  • Lead asset disposition efforts, including marketing, PSA negotiations, and closing coordination.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement and manage team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in finance; at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.

  • Knowledge of real estate markets, investment analysis, and financial management practices.

  • Experience with FP&A, P&L management, proforma analysis, and investment returns.

  • Proficiency with financial management systems, preferably SAP.

  • Understanding of legal documents related to real estate (joint venture agreements, land contracts, etc.).

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally as needed.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work flexible hours to meet organizational needs.
