About the role:

The Director of Recreation is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all operations across Pool & Beach, Cabana experiences, and

Seaway Restaurant, including both service and operational performance. This department head role leads a diverse team, overseeing recreation programming and restaurant operations while ensuring alignment with Four Seasons standards. This position is part of the Food & Beverage division, reporting to Resort senior leadership.

What you will do:

• Lead, develop, and manage teams across Pool & Beach operations and Seaway Restaurant

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of Seaway Restaurant, including service standards, guest satisfaction, and team performance

• Drive a culture of excellence through training, coaching, performance management, and employee engagement

• Maintain a strong presence in the operation, engaging with guests and resolving concerns with professionalism

• Manage and elevate the Cabana Program to deliver a five-star, personalized guest experience

• Oversee all outdoor recreation offerings, including pools, beach services, and water activities

• Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation of all food and beverage offerings across poolside and restaurant environments

• Provide expertise in beverage and dining offerings, ensuring compliance with all alcohol service regulations

• Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management

• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless resort operations

• Drive innovation in guest programming, outdoor experiences, and restaurant offerings

• Evaluate facilities and equipment regularly, ensuring upkeep and recommending improvements

What you bring:

• College degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

• Progressive leadership experience in resort recreation, pool/beach operations, and restaurant or food & beverage management

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing large, diverse teams across multiple outlets

• Proven ability to drive operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and financial performance

• Strong knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, including service and beverage standards

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-facing leadership role

• Strong organizational and strategic planning skills

• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
