- Develop and execute a comprehensive safety and risk management strategy for all corporate and franchise operations.
- Establish safety standards, policies, procedures, and best practices that support operational excellence and risk reduction.
- Create and manage company-wide safety scorecards, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems.
- Lead initiatives designed to reduce workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, cargo claims, and insurance losses.
- Foster a culture of accountability, leadership, and safety ownership across all levels of the organization.
- Provide executive leadership with regular reporting and recommendations regarding safety trends, risks, and corrective actions.

- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure system-wide compliance.
- Lead internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and inspectors.
- Oversee the company's captive insurance programs and risk management initiatives.
- Partner with insurance brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators to manage risk exposure.
- Analyze workers' compensation, auto liability, general liability and cargo claims.
- Identify claim trends and implement proactive loss prevention strategies.
- Lead root cause investigations for significant incidents and catastrophic losses.
- Develop corrective action plans to reduce claim frequency and severity.
- Assist Legal and Executive Leadership with litigation prevention and claim mitigation efforts.
- Participate in insurance renewals, underwriting reviews, and policy evaluations.
- Establish and maintain fleet safety standards for all moving and junk removal operations.
- Manage telematics, vehicle monitoring systems, and driver safety technologies.
- Develop driver coaching, accident review, and corrective action programs.
- Monitor driver eligibility, motor vehicle records (MVRs), and qualification standards.
- Implement strategies to reduce preventable vehicle accidents and improve fleet performance.
- Lead enterprise-wide OSHA compliance initiatives.
- Develop safety programs
- Conduct field audits and safety inspections.
- Ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety certification programs for franchise owners and operational leaders.
- Create engaging training content, webinars, workshops, and annual safety conferences.
- Support franchise locations with compliance reviews and corrective action planning.
- Collaborate with Training & Development teams to integrate safety leadership into operational training programs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to franchise owners on safety, risk, and compliance matters.
- Oversee all significant injury, accident, and property damage investigations.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents.
- Manage workers' compensation and auto accident review processes.
- Coordinate return-to-work initiatives and injury prevention efforts.
- Track and report claim performance metrics and trends.
- Build and lead a high-performing safety and risk management function.
- Mentor operational leaders and franchise owners on safety best practices.
- Promote leadership development and accountability throughout the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support company growth and operational excellence.
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Transportation, Business Administration, Industrial Safety, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in safety, risk management, transportation compliance, insurance, or fleet operations.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing programs, teams, or multi-location operations.
- Extensive knowledge of:
- DOT regulations
- FMCSA compliance
- OSHA standards
- Workers' Compensation programs
- Auto liability and fleet claims management
- Commercial insurance programs
- Transportation and logistics operations
- Accident investigation and root cause analysis
- Safety management systems
- Experience supporting multi-location, franchise, transportation, logistics, moving, or field-service organizations.
- Demonstrated success reducing accident frequency, injury rates, and insurance losses.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
- Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
- Certified Director of Safety (CDS)
- OSHA 30 Certification
- DOT Compliance Certification
- Experience with captive insurance programs.
- Experience implementing telematics and driver monitoring technology.
- Experience in moving, transportation, logistics, waste removal, home services, or franchising environments.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Experience with safety management systems and reporting platforms.
- Working knowledge of telematics platforms such as Samsara, Motive, Geotab, or similar technologies.
- Experience utilizing analytics and dashboard reporting tools.
- Ability to travel up to 40% domestically to franchise and corporate locations.
- Ability to conduct field audits and inspections in operational environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
