Remote- Commercial Roofing Sales & Estimating Director
Pay: 130-160k base + incentives
*Remote- Must be located in the southeast region of US*
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales & Estimating Director to lead regional revenue growth for a commercial roofing organization. This role serves as the key connection between sales, estimating, operations, and executive leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of complex commercial roofing projects while driving profitable growth.
The Sales & Estimating Director will guide internal teams and clients through the full project lifecycle, from opportunity identification and technical consultation through estimating trategy and project award. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems, and the ability to support both high-value opportunities and long-term client relationships.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-oriented, and comfortable leading regional teams while managing complex commercial roofing opportunities and client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional sales and estimating strategies targeting facility owners, property managers, general contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop sales and estimating teams to ensure strong technical knowledge, consistent proposal quality, and effective pipeline management.
- Monitor and drive regional revenue goals, performance metrics, and pipeline activity.
- Serve as the technical authority on commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up roofing (BUR), liquid-applied systems, and commercial metal roofing.
- Provide technical consultation during project qualification, bidding, and preconstruction phases.
- Review construction documents, specifications, and scopes of work to determine optimal roofing system solutions.
- Collaborate with operations and estimating teams to ensure accurate, competitive, and executable project proposals.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, consultants, and general contractors by providing trusted preconstruction guidance.
- Participate in high-value client presentations, RFP responses, and strategic project pursuits.
- Stay current on commercial roofing innovations, building code updates, and industry best practices.
- Provide market insights to leadership to help align sales, estimating, and operational strategies with market demand.
- Represent the organization at industry associations, trade events, and technical conferences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in commercial roofing sales, estimating, or technical project leadership.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, installation practices, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated success leading sales and/or estimating teams within the construction or roofing industry.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex systems to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience using CRM systems and construction software such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Edge Estimating, or Dataforma.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally as needed.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with regional building codes, energy efficiency programs, and roofing compliance standards.
- Experience working with clients in property management, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and institutional sectors.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
