Director of Social Services (LCSW/LMSW) - Bronx, NY (Onsite) - Contract-to-Hire / Full-Time- Mon-Fri With Flexibility to Work Either 09:00am-05:00pm or 10:00am-06:00pm - $48.00-$50.00 Per HR Title: Director of Social Services (LCSW/LMSW)Location: Bronx, NY (Onsite)Position Type: Contract-to-Hire / Full-Time- Mon-Fri With Flexibility to Work Either 09:00am-05:00pm or 10:00am-06:00pmCompensation: Pay Range: $48.00-$50.00 Per HRSummary:• Our healthcare staffing team is seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to serve as the Director of Social Services for a Family Shelter in the Bronx. • This is an outstanding contract-to-hire leadership opportunity for a passionate clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to supporting families experiencing homelessness.• As the Director of Social Services, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the social services department, provide clinical leadership and supervision to staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with shelter leadership to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed services that help families achieve stability and independence.What You'll Do:Leadership & Team Management:• Lead, mentor, and supervise a multidisciplinary social services team, including Social Workers, Case Managers, Recreational staff, and interns.• Conduct weekly supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations.• Foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable team culture.• Recruit, interview, onboard, and support new team members alongside program leadership.• Coordinate staff schedules, approve timecards, and assist with daily departmental operations.Clinical Oversight:• Provide clinical guidance and consultation on complex participant cases.• Conduct case conferences and support staff with crisis intervention and problem-solving.• Review and approve assessments, service plans, progress notes, and case documentation.• Ensure documentation meets agency, funding, and regulatory standards.• Audit participant records to maintain compliance and quality of care.Program Operations:• Monitor program outcomes and prepare monthly reports, statistics, and other required documentation.• Participate in incident reviews and oversee follow-up actions.• Partner with leadership to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.• Build and maintain relationships with community agencies and referral partners.• Collaborate with program staff to coordinate educational workshops, family programming, and recreational activities.Participant Support:• Provide clinical assessments and crisis intervention when needed.• Serve as a resource for participants, staff, and community partners.• Promote trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered services for families experiencing homelessness.Qualifications: Required:• Active New York State Licensed Social Worker (LCSW/LMSW)• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in social services, behavioral health, shelter services, supportive housing, or a related setting• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development experience• Experience providing clinical supervision and case consultation• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis interventionPreferred:• Experience working with families experiencing homelessness• Experience with mental health, substance use disorders, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, child welfare, or public benefits• Bilingual in Spanish preferred• Experience with the CARES system is a plusSkills You'll Bring:• Strong clinical judgment and leadership abilities• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment• Exceptional organizational and documentation skills• Experience with quality assurance, audits, and regulatory compliance• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word and Excel)• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standardsWhy Join This Opportunity:• Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term career potential• Competitive compensation• Monday–Friday schedule with flexible start times• Leadership role with the opportunity to mentor and develop a dedicated clinical team• Meaningful work supporting families experiencing homelessness• Collaborative and mission-driven work environment• Opportunity to make a lasting impact in the Bronx community If you're an experienced LCSW/LMSW looking for a rewarding leadership opportunity where you can mentor staff, drive clinical excellence, and positively impact families in need, we'd love to hear from you.
