Overview

Role: The BRICK Networks separates the core responsibilities of running a school day-to-day into three primary functions: Instruction, Operations, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). BRICK Road to Success (BRtS) is a two-generation internal Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) that promotes stability and success in the five life domains: family, education, housing, health and economic mobility. BRtS proactively promotes success in a student's academic and social-emotional journey by removing barriers to resources and identifying opportunities for development and growth.

The Director of Student Supports will manage the BRICK Road to Success program and oversees the school's Multi-tiered System of Supports to ensure that 100% of students have "an adult" to help them create, monitor and achieve their goals. This role requires someone who is a systems thinker, has knowledge of local resources, an ability to navigate school systems, and practical knowledge about interventions. The ideal candidate for this role has the ability to identify gaps, coordinate resources and motivate others to case manage to success. Experience implementing a Tiered System of Supports, RTI, or PBIS structures to meet the academic, behavioral, health, enrichment and social/emotional needs of all students is strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and Lead the coordination of BRICK Roads to Success (BRtS) to ensure that students, staff and families have access to resources to support student achievement
  • Lead the BRtS team through the problem solving process to develop SMART Student Intervention Plans
  • Support team members to implement interventions with fidelity
  • Monitor requests for assistance
  • Determine the appropriateness of cases, and triage cases for review by BRtS subcommittees
  • Exercise sound judgment in case prioritization
  • Convene BRtS core-team meetings
  • Prepare meeting agendas
  • Lead high quality professional development for practical implementation of BRtS and I&RS systems and processes
  • Clarify and adhere to building-level operating procedures and rules
  • Maintain an educational focus for resolving Student Intervention Plans
  • Serve as the liaison to school administrators and case navigators
  • Coordinate, oversee and be accountable for daily / weekly / monthly BRtS team performance
  • Create monthly reports on student progress
  • Review data to track performance of prevention strategies, Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions
  • Identify resources, as needed, to respond to student and family needs using defined processes, expertise, and sound judgment
  • Inform the development of academic, restorative justice, behavioral and other social-emotional strategies to meet student needs
  • Respond to family concerns promptly and effectively
  • Provide consultation to staff to enhance systems thinking related to interventions for students and families
  • Attend and participate in grade level meetings, as needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners (e.g. SWPN, Imagine, Leaders for Life, Saint James Health and other service providers)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in social work, education or related field
  • At least three (3) years working in an education or social services setting
  • Experience working in mental health or behavioral health settings is preferred
  • Experience coordinating mental or behavioral health services
  • Knowledge of social emotional learning competencies and applied practices
  • Knowledge of healing centered engagement
  • Ability to motivate others
  • -Ability to evaluate the configuration of factors within the home, community, and school as related to a student's current social and academic adjustment
  • Case management experience is required
