Job Description
Director of Supply Chain & Inventory
Location: Tigard, OR
Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid (Monday-Thursday On Site, Fridays Remote)
Compensation: $150,000-$175,000 Base Salary + Up to 20% Annual Performance Bonus
About the Opportunity
Our client is a third-generation, family-owned wholesale distributor serving the HVAC/R industry across six western states. As one of the largest distributors within its network, the organization has built its reputation on exceptional customer service, technical expertise, and long-term partnerships with customers, employees, and suppliers.
The company is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Supply Chain & Inventory to lead purchasing, inventory management, replenishment, and supply chain operations across its branch network.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a well-established organization with an experienced, highly tenured team and play a key role in shaping the next chapter of its supply chain operations.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This is not a turnaround or cost-cutting initiative.
You'll inherit a knowledgeable team of 6-8 purchasing and inventory professionals, many of whom have been with the company for eight years or longer. The objective is not to replace people—it's to modernize processes, improve efficiency, and help an already successful team reach the next level.
The ideal leader understands how to earn credibility, coach experienced professionals, and successfully lead organizational change without disrupting the strong culture that's already in place.
Equally important, the current leader will remain with the organization through next year before retiring, creating a rare opportunity for a thoughtful transition. Their institutional knowledge is invaluable, and this role requires someone who can leverage that expertise, build a strong partnership, and ensure a seamless leadership transition rather than attempting to reinvent the department overnight.
We're looking for a leader who is comfortable shifting between long-term strategic planning and day-to-day operational execution—someone who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, work alongside the team, and lead by example.
Position Overview
The Director of Supply Chain & Inventory will develop and execute inventory and purchasing strategies that improve product availability, optimize inventory investment, strengthen vendor partnerships, and drive operational excellence across multiple branch locations.
Success in this role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution. You'll influence change through coaching, collaboration, and process improvement while partnering closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, Branch Leadership, and Executive Leadership to align supply chain performance with the company's long-term growth objectives.
