Director of Tax Services- Partnership Track- Excellent Growth Opportunity
About the Opportunity:
gpac has partnered with a well-established public accounting firm in downtown Hartford that is seeking an experienced Director of Tax Services to join our growing team. This role offers a clear pathway to partnership for the right candidate who demonstrates leadership, technical expertise, and client relationship skills. They serve a diverse client base of small to middle market businesses and high-net-worth individuals across various industries.
What You'll Do:
- Lead tax compliance and planning for business and individual clients
- Oversee and review tax returns including C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts
- Develop and implement best practices for tax compliance and client service
- Mentor and develop junior staff members
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for clients
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the firm
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting
- M.S. in Taxation with EA certification or on track to obtain EA/CPA
- Strong experience with business returns and small business clients
- Proficiency with tax software such as CCH Prosystem Tax & Engagement and/or Thomson Reuters solutions
- Experience with QuickBooks Desktop & Online implementation and maintenance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to professional growth and development
