Job Description
What's the role?
The Director of Tax Services provides strategic, operational, and technical leadership for the firm's tax service line. This role is responsible for driving quality, profitability, people development, and growth while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders. This includes:
Providing expert-level guidance on financial and tax policies, strategies, and guidelines for clients.
Leading and inspiring a team of tax professionals through collaboration and mentorship.
Managing service line profitability, performance metrics, and strategic direction.
Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing quality standards and best practices.
Leading process management and continuous improvement initiatives (Followed By All – FBA).
Establishing and managing staffing capacity and development plans.
Providing high-level oversight of client work and engagement quality.
Serving as a visible technical expert and public speaker to help brand the firm.
Communicating effectively in high-risk or sensitive situations.
Leading and communicating change management initiatives.
Acting as LMA for the Tax Service Line.
Actively promoting and complying with firm-wide strategies and initiatives.
Driving business development by expanding existing client services and attracting new business.
What experience and skills do I need to be successful?
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Enrolled Agent (EA) required; CPA and additional certifications preferred.
10+ years of public accounting tax experience.
Proven leadership and people development experience.
Strong business acumen and service line management capabilities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically while executing operationally.
Strong client advisory and relationship management skills.

What will my schedule look like?
This is a full-time leadership role with seasonal busy periods and more balanced hours outside of peak season. Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, with flexibility based on business and client needs.
