Job Description

About Roebuck Law Firm

Roebuck Law Firm is a growing plaintiff personal injury law firm in Las Vegas serving clients in Nevada and California. We handle motor vehicle collision, premises liability, and dog bite cases, and we are building a high-accountability, technology-driven operation designed to move cases efficiently and serve clients at a high level.

We are not looking for someone to simply cut checks. We are looking for a professional who can own the final stage of the case lifecycle, protect accuracy, reduce delays, audit files before money goes out, and help ensure settlement funds are disbursed correctly the first time.

The Opportunity

The Personal Injury Disbursement Specialist is a mission-critical role responsible for moving cases from settlement to clean, accurate disbursement. This position is ideal for someone who understands that strong disbursement work is part legal support, part financial control, part lien resolution, and part client communication.

You will review files for completeness, verify settlement terms and case expenses, identify and resolve lien issues, prepare settlement statements, obtain final payoff confirmations, and coordinate with attorneys, case managers, providers, lienholders, and clients so funds can be released with confidence. Your work directly affects client satisfaction, cash-flow timing, and risk control.

What You Will Own

  • Audit plaintiff personal injury files before disbursement to confirm the file is complete, internally consistent, and ready for final funds release.
  • Review settlement terms, attorney fees, case costs, medical bills, liens, subrogation claims, reductions, and all other case-specific obligations before disbursement is approved.
  • Identify, verify, and negotiate medical provider balances, health insurance reimbursement claims, lienholder demands, and other asserted payoffs related to settlement proceeds.
  • Prepare accurate settlement statements and breakdowns for attorney review and client approval.
  • Obtain written final payoff confirmations from providers, insurers, lienholders, and government entities when applicable.
  • Verify that required signatures, approvals, trust-account controls, and supporting documentation are in place before any funds are released.
  • Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready documentation in Filevine and related systems.
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding settlement status, outstanding conditions, expected timelines, and next steps.
  • Coordinate closely with attorneys, case managers, accounting, and operations to reduce lag time between settlement and disbursement.
  • Help improve disbursement workflows, quality-control processes, and file-audit procedures as the firm continues to scale.

What Success Looks Like

  • Settlement files are audited thoroughly before disbursement and material errors are caught before money goes out.
  • Settlement statements are clean, accurate, and supported by complete backup documentation.
  • Liens and provider balances are resolved efficiently, with reductions obtained where appropriate and supportable.
  • Clients receive proactive, clear communication during the final phase of their case.
  • Funds move out faster because the file is organized, the approvals are clear, and the conditions to release are satisfied.
  • Disbursements are completed accurately, with strong trust-account discipline and minimal rework.

Requirements

Required

1.     Prior experience with plaintiff personal injury disbursements, settlement statements, liens, medical billing, or closely related settlement-finance work.

2.     Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to spot inconsistencies before disbursement.

3.     Comfort working through payoff calculations, balances, reductions, and documentation-heavy workflows.

4.     Strong written and verbal communication skills with providers, insurers, staff, and clients.

5.     Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.

6.     Ability to work full-time on-site in Las Vegas.

Preferred

1.     Experience with Filevine or another case management platform.

2.     Experience negotiating lien reductions or provider balances.

3.     Knowledge of subrogation, Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, or other reimbursement issues.

4.     Experience with Quickbooks Online

5.     Knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and legal Trust Account Compliance

6. Bilingual English/Spanish

Benefits

Compensation & Benefits

  • $24.00-$31.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Quarterly performance bonuses tied to measurable KPIs.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance, with the firm covering the vast majority of premiums.
  • 13 paid holidays and 12 days of PTO per year.
  • Retirement benefits.
  • Growth opportunity inside a rapidly expanding plaintiff personal injury practice.
  • Potential remote flexibility after demonstrating strong command of the role and consistent performance.

We review applications on a rolling basis. Roebuck Law Firm is an equal opportunity employer.
