IPEX is a North American leader in thermoplastic piping systems, committed to safety, innovation, and operational excellence. We are looking for a Distribution Center Manager to lead our Charlotte, NC distribution operations and drive performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Position Summary:
The Distribution Center Manager oversees all warehouse and yard operations, ensuring compliance with company standards, optimizing processes, and leading a high-performing team. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily distribution operations to meet IPEX quality and service standards
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations
- Manage, coach, and develop warehouse staff
- Set goals, conduct performance evaluations, and approve timesheets
- Monitor and improve employee performance
- Oversee inventory accuracy and control
- Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Achieve financial and operational targets
- Ensure proper training and adherence to internal procedures
- Coordinate communication between HSE, purchasing, transport, HR, customer service, and production
- Oversee equipment layout, repairs, and maintenance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements (including SAP EWM)
- Prepare and update performance reports
- Perform other duties as required
Education & Certifications:
- College diploma or equivalent experience
- C‑TPAT background check
- Lean Six Sigma certification (asset)
Experience & Skills:
- 3-5 years of team management experience
- Experience with SAP EWM
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to analyze data, manage processes, and provide effective feedback
- Understanding of health and safety legislation

Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to warehouse environments
- Possible exposure to noise, moving machinery, chemicals, and industrial vehicles
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Required use of PPE (safety glasses, vest, gloves, safety shoes, etc.)
- Occasional stress due to shifting priorities and deadlines
- Travel up to 10%
