Who We Are:
The Orthodox Union (OU) is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol,Ⓤ, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer foodproducts.
About the OU Executive Fellowship:
The OU Executive Fellowship is a10-monthprofessional development program for a selective cohort of post-college Jewish adults eager to explore and invest in initiatives that serve the Jewish community – locally and globally. The Fellowship experience is full-time, paid, and blends OU department-specific work with cohort-based, hands-on learning opportunities beyond the walls of Headquarters. The Fellowship runs from September 1, 2026,to June 24, 2027.
Position Summary:
The Donor Communications & Campaigns Fellow will support OU fundraising communications acrossMembership, Benefactor Circle, and crowdfunding campaigns, helping translate OU’s mission into clear, donor-centered messaging. This role is designed as apipeline to permanent fundraising and communications roles.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and edit donor-facing email communications forMembership and mid-level giving,Benefactor Circle, andCrowdfunding campaigns
- Support stewardship communications following campaigns and donor milestones
- Collaborate with fundraising, marketing, and program teams to ensure messaging accuracy and alignment
- Build email sends directly within the OU’s email platform, following established templates and tone
- Assistwithlanding page copyand related campaign content
- Track basic performance metrics and, as skills develop, support testing and optimization efforts
- Maintain organized files, templates, and messaging resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Interest in fundraising, communications, or nonprofit development
- Comfort working within established voice and brand guidelines
- Familiarity with Jewish communal language and Orthodox context strongly preferred
Salary and Benefits:The salary range for this position is$43,000.
