About the Role

The Donor Communications Manager plays a key role in advancing our mission and vision by designing and developing strategic communications and materials tailored to TAAF’s growing donor audience. This role will be essential to strengthening donor cultivation and stewardship by translating our work, impact and priorities into clear, compelling narratives that inspire engagement and long-term partnership. The Donor Communications Manager will ensure that all donor-facing communications are consistent with TAAF’s brand, reflect our values and effectively convey the impact of our programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop sophisticated, personalized donor presentations to support individual, corporate and foundation fundraising efforts.
  • Create compelling, visually engaging one-pagers that communicate the impact of TAAF’s programs, initiatives and projects.
  • Draft clear, persuasive written updates, appeals and correspondence for current and prospective donors.Coordinate and execute donor e-communications aligned with key milestones including Giving Tuesday, year-end giving and AANHPI Heritage month campaigns.
  • Expand donor engagement by sharing timely updates on organizational milestones, impact and events through email and newsletter platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • Manage and regularly update the website giving page to ensure alignment with current TAAF branding, messaging and campaigns.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the Communications and Marketing and Partnerships teams, helping to align messaging and leverage content across both functions.
  • Manage and maintain the donor communications calendar in close collaboration with the Senior Development Director and the Communications and Marketing team to ensure timely and coordinated outreach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Three or more years of experience developing communications and materials in support of fundraising or donor engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience designing donor-facing materials using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Canva.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of the donor mindset and the factors that inspire giving.
  • Advanced presentation design skills with the ability to create clear, visually compelling and persuasive materials.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate impact effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with email marketing and newsletter platforms such as Mailchimp.
  • Strong graphic design skills and a keen eye for layout, typography and visual storytelling.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of follow-through on tasks and projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential donor information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • High degree of humility, sound judgment, and personal integrity.
  • Passion for TAAF’s mission and the ability to clearly and authentically communicate our work to advance belonging and prosperity for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.

Working Hours

  • Occasional weekend, off-hours or evening work required.
  • Some travel required.

Location

  • This role requires residency in New York or San Francisco with three days in office.
