100% On-site Casper, WY DISA & Safety are requiredPosition Summary The Draftsman is responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining technical drawings and documentation that support midstream oil and gas facilities, including pump stations, meter stations, refined product loading terminals, crude oil terminals, and related infrastructure. This role works closely with engineering, operations, integrity, and project management teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and constructible drawings throughout the asset lifecycle. Primary responsibilities will be QA/QC of engineering vendor design and project as-built packages, as well as managing work orders to update drawings within the HF Sinclair Midstream drawing management system with revisions and changes.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed engineering and construction drawings including Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), plot plans, site layouts, isometrics, and electrical/instrumentation layouts (as applicable).
- Develop and maintain as-built drawings based on field changes and redlines.
- Support capital projects, maintenance activities, and integrity programs with updated drawings and documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards and industry codes (ASME, API, DOT/PHMSA as applicable).
- Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, inspectors, and field personnel to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage drawing revisions and document control in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of drawing packages for construction, permitting, regulatory submittals, operations, and maintenance.
- Perform field walkdowns when required to verify existing conditions.
- Maintain accurate records within document management systems.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of drafting experience in oil & gas, midstream, or industrial facilities.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CadWorx Plant.
- Strong understanding of pipeline systems, P&IDs, and facility layouts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, standards, and construction documents.
- Strong attention to detail and document accuracy.
- Experience with CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx P&ID, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Experience with ECE Designs SocketWorx and Diagrams.
- Experience with DOT regulated pipeline systems.
- Experience with Leica RT-360 scanner and CloudWorx.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Navisworks.
- Familiarity with asset integrity, mechanical integrity, or MOC (Management of Change) processes.
- Experience working in a midstream operating environment.
- Knowledge of document control and drawing management systems.
