Drafting & Design Group Leader

Oxford Solutions is working with an established engineering consulting firm seeking a Drafting & Design Group Leader for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This onsite leadership role is ideal for a senior-level drafting professional who can oversee day-to-day design production, coordinate multidisciplinary efforts, and serve as a key point of contact for clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise drafting and design personnel within the assigned group
• Distribute workload and manage resources to meet project schedules and budgets
• Coordinate drafting activities with other group leaders and internal departments
• Collaborate closely with engineers and perform basic design functions as needed
• Ensure technical accuracy and adherence to established drafting standards
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members
• Monitor project progress and provide timely reporting on budget and schedule status
• Maintain regular communication with clients and vendors
• Support client relationship development and assist with sales and marketing initiatives

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from a trade school or accredited college
• At least 15 years of experience in drafting and design
• Proficiency with at least one CADD platform; 3D design experience preferred
• Strong understanding of engineering design processes and documentation standards
• Demonstrated leadership experience supervising drafting teams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization
• Experience managing client interactions and supporting project delivery objectives
