HireLevel is seeking a Yard Dog Driver Lead to oversee yard operations and lead a team of drivers in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient movement of trailers and materials to support inbound and outbound operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily yard operations and coordinate trailer movement to support receiving and warehouse needs
• Lead, train, and supervise a team of yard dog drivers
• Operate yard trucks to move trailers to and from docks safely and efficiently
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to team members
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
• Collaborate with warehouse and receiving teams to prioritize trailer movement
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and yard activity
• Inspect yard trucks and equipment; report issues and coordinate repairs
• Monitor key performance metrics such as on-time movements, equipment uptime, and safety incidents
• Troubleshoot and resolve logistics issues such as delays or misplaced trailers
• Coordinate with carriers to support smooth inbound and outbound operations
• Track carrier performance and report findings to leadership
• Maintain a clean, organized yard environment following 5S principles
• Support returns and special material handling processes as needed
• Promote a strong safety culture and proactively address potential hazards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required (additional logistics training preferred)
• 3+ years of experience operating yard trucks or similar equipment
• Valid CDL or equivalent certification for yard truck operation (preferred/required based on client)
• 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
• Strong knowledge of yard safety practices and material handling procedures
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods (8+ hours)
• Work in outdoor conditions, including varying weather environments
• Operate yard trucks and equipment safely and efficiently
• Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as needed
• Perform physical movements such as climbing, crouching, and reaching
• Ability to work in a noisy, active industrial environment
• Visual and auditory ability to safely operate equipment and communicate effectively
