Job Description
New Exciting Opportunity for a Driver in Newport News
Qualifications:
- Ability to safely work without constant supervision
- Complies with direction and exhibits strong problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment including fork trucks and flatbed trucks
- Experience with loading/unloading and securing freight
- Ability to frequently lift 55lbs
- Familiarity with city driving and navigation systems
- Understanding of basic warehouse and yard layout
- Experience in a construction site delivery plus
- Clean driving record for the past 5 years
Job Duties:
- Safely operate flatbed trucks to transport goods over short and long distances
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance
- Load and unload bulky construction materials by fork truck, dump bed, or manually.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations as well as company policies
- Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Safely operate a fork truck in the act of loading delivery vehicles, loading customer vehicles, and unload inbound materials.
- Clean and organize a working warehouse and building materials yard
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
Pay:
- $20.00-$22.00 per hour
