Job Description

We are currently seeking a Dryer Operator to join the Jerome West Plant. The Dryer Operator is responsible for running dryer equipment efficiently and productively. Ideal candidates will have previous manufacturing experience in a dairy processing environment, troubleshooting skills, the ability to tolerate varying smells and temperatures, and a willingness to learn.

Pay: $26.29 per hour USD + $ 1.50 night shift differential

Shift: Rotational Night Shift, 5:00 PM-5:00 AM; Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday one week and Wednesday, Thursday the opposite week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and trace product lines from the tote filling station to the product supply tanks.
  • Able to CIP D-tanks 1-6 in the D-alley. (Knowledge of pipe connections and panel view screen)
  • Be able to operate the dryer equipment in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate packaging, coding, tagging, labeling, and storage of finished products in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production/packaging records for efficiency, quality, and inventory control.
  • Obtain sanitary tote samples for quality control in compliance with established procedures.
  • Weigh finished product totes used during shift and document required paperwork.
  • Operate the forklift safely and efficiently in accordance with procedures and safety requirements, and record the operational status on the daily checklist.
  • Report equipment and/or quality problems to the production supervisor, quality control, and maintenance.
  • Cleaning and CIP of all equipment and work areas as required by the position.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and assist maintenance staff in repairs as required.
  • Any other task required to get the job done and/or any other tasks asked by management personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a machine operator or equivalent skills are preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Forklift operator license or willingness to learn.
