Job Description
Commercial Drywall Estimator
A well-established commercial interiors contractor is hiring a Drywall Estimator to bid and win projects across their full scope: drywall, acoustical ceilings, structural framing, and light gauge metal framing. You'll work with project managers and leadership on a strong pipeline of commercial work, including office, healthcare, education, retail, and multifamily projects.
What you'll do
- Prepare accurate, competitive bids for commercial drywall, acoustical ceiling (ACT), light gauge metal framing, and structural/CFS framing packages
- Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specs using On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar
- Review drawings, specifications, and addenda, and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities
- Get and level material and sub pricing, and build labor and production estimates
- Write clear proposals with inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks, and build relationships with general contractors
- Hand awarded projects off to operations with complete estimate documentation
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, framing, or interior systems
- Working knowledge of ACT systems, metal stud framing, structural/CFS framing, and fire-rated and acoustical assemblies
- Proficiency with digital takeoff software and Excel
- Strong blueprint and spec reading skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple bids and hit deadlines
- Field or project management experience is a plus
