Job Description
Residential Mortgage Finance – VP
The Residential Mortgage Finance Group, part of the Fixed Income Division, provides financing and securitization underwriting services to clients holding mortgages attached to US residential real estate. Our clients include large institutions across mortgage originators, aggregators, servicers, and investors. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join this growing team, with the ability to execute in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
Lead Residential Mortgage Finance due diligence efforts:
- Collaborate with the Head of the Desk, Technology, and Credit teams to analyze and report on due diligence information from third-party providers across credit, compliance and valuation metrics.
- Partner with Technology to build out our due diligence database, enabling management and trend reporting across clients and collateral types.
- Ensure the data model supports accurate, efficient, and comprehensive reporting.
- Work closely with the Residential Mortgage Finance banking team to integrate and accurately represent due diligence results in securitization underwriting offering documents.
Vendor and client management:
- Oversee third-party vendors conducting due diligence, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Coordinate with clients to gather and reconcile due diligence information for accuracy and completeness.
Risk and management reporting:
- Create and maintain management reports for internal risk management and reporting to infrastructure teams.
- Provide actionable insights from due diligence findings to inform decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in mortgage finance, fixed income, or a related field, with exposure to U.S. residential real estate assets.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with experience in due diligence.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as SQL and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage vendors and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The expected base salary ranges from $175,000- $250,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
