Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Observation Unit / Med-Surg Unit
Location: Gainesville, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shifts (Rotating Weekends)


Compensation & Incentives

  • 2 Years of Experience: $30.69/hr

  • 5 Years of Experience: $33.71/hr

  • 17+ Years of Experience: $43.20/hr

  • Sign-On Bonus: $20,000

  • Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis


Position Overview

Join a fast-paced Observation/Med-Surg Unit where no two shifts are the same. This high-acuity unit frequently serves patients presenting with chest pain and other urgent needs, making it an excellent environment for experienced RNs who thrive in dynamic, team-oriented settings with rapid patient turnover.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop effective care plans

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize care outcomes

  • Manage frequent discharges and admissions within the same shift

  • Accurately document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards


Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience in Observation, Med-Surg, or Emergency Room settings (within the past 4 years)

  • Licensure:

    • Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license (must obtain FL license within 90 days of hire)

  • Education:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or RN Diploma

  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – required within 30 days of employment

  • Patient Population: High volume of patients with chest pain and rapid turnover

  • Preferred Background: Previous Observation Unit or Emergency Room nursing experience

  • Unit Focus: Acute care needs with high-efficiency discharge and admission processes
