The Individual Assistant will be a key part of creating an environment where a child with special needs can fully participate and thrive—while also contributing to a caring, trauma-informed classroom for all children.Specifically, this team member will provide individualized support tailored to nutrition intake, communication, and supporting developing relationships with peers, always centering the child’s dignity, safety, and well-being. Your work will directly contribute to a classroom where every child has the opportunity to grow, belong, and shine. This position is part-time, 25hours a week, in-person at our South Burlington center. This is a one-year, temporary, grant-funded position with an anticipated start date of July 6th, contingent on grant-approval. The rate of pay for this position is $24/hr. Research shows that individuals from marginalized groups—such as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, people with disabilities, and those from working-class backgrounds—often hesitate to apply for jobs unless they can see themselves meeting and performing every responsibility and requirement. However, many skills can be learned on the job. If you can see yourself adding value to the role, our clients, staff, and guests and meeting most of the responsibilities and qualifications, we encourage you to apply! What You Will Bring:
- Childhood Development Associate (CDA) Credential or Associate’s degree in early childhood (or related field) and/or one year of experience working with young children is preferred.
