Location: Kansas City, MO Salary: $39.00 USD Hourly - $43.00 USD Hourly Description: Our client is currently seeking an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher (Float) around the Kansas City area! Openings: 1 Location: Kansas City, MO Position: Floater Hours: Monday-Friday, school time hours Position Summary The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher (Float) delivers specialized instructional services in accordance with district policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include case management, mentoring, and the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role also involves supervising and scheduling paraeducators, participating in problem‑solving teams, creating behavior intervention plans, and coordinating and facilitating IEP meetings. Depending on client needs, teachers in this position may also serve as a Process Coordinator, Academic Evaluator, Case Manager, or Teacher of Record. Work settings (in‑person, hybrid, or virtual) are determined by client and company requirements. Supervised Employees May include paraeducators, new teachers, or other district‑assigned staff. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Holds or is eligible for a teaching license with the appropriate endorsement. Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter, specialized curriculum, and individualized instructional methods. Proficiency with multimedia tools and assistive technology to support diverse learners. Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, staff, administrators, and families. Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal abilities. Position-Specific Responsibilities Prepare and maintain required documentation, including progress reports, IEPs, meeting notices, and prior written notices. Communicate clearly and professionally in all written and verbal interactions. Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure compliance with Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide timely, high‑quality services. Complete all required documentation and billing in accordance with district policies. Apply current research and best practices to guide instructional decisions. Supervise and support district personnel, including paraprofessionals and new teachers, in alignment with state, federal, and company guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned.
