Job Description
The Echocardiograph Technologist performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Cardiologist. This role requires independent judgment and technical expertise to produce accurate cardiac imaging using non-invasive ultrasound technology.
You will support patient care across multiple clinical settings including echocardiography labs, surgical units, mobile units, and nursing departments, while working in a patient-focused, collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiographic procedures for diagnostic cardiac imaging
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images
- Apply independent judgment in evaluating and adjusting imaging techniques
- Assist cardiologists in diagnosis through accurate image acquisition
- Participate in clinical activities including on-call rotations
- Support imaging services across multiple departments (Echo Lab, Surgery, Mobile Units, Nursing Units)
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper procedure protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a formal Echocardiography training program or equivalent
- Ability to demonstrate competency in echocardiographic procedures
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association) – Required upon hire
- Within 1 year of hire:
- RDCS (ARDMS) certification OR
- CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of experience in echocardiography
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and imaging techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and diagnostic accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
