Education Coordinator- FirstChoice

*THIS IS A PART-TIME (20-HOURS PER WEEK) POSITION*

Develops,designsand implements theFirstChoice National Travel programeducational plan.Assistsin the development of the FirstChoice educational programs at each hub in collaboration with the site-specific resources.Facilitates staff competency in providing relationship-based care by using adult learningmethodology, which incorporatesdemonstratinginterest in,and respect for learners, and creating an environment of safety for both patients and nursing staff. Worksto assess, plan, develop, implement,coordinate, and evaluate skill acquisition and thelearning process ofsystem-wideemployees.Work activities include such collaborativefunctions asorientation, preceptor development and programming,continuing education, staff development, mandatory education, and new product/newprocesseducation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Knows, understands, incorporates, anddemonstratesthe Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. 

Worksto assess, plan, develop, implement,coordinate, and evaluate the skill acquisition and the learning process of employeesneededfor the FirstChoice National Travel program.  

Servesas a mentor and resource to the FirstChoicehubs in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the educational competencies for the FirstChoicestaff.

Facilitatesandcreates a student learningenvironment thatachievesdesired cognitive,affectiveand psychomotoroutcomes.

Facilitates learnerdevelopment andsocializationbyhelping nursing staff develop and integrate the values and behaviorsexpected.

Utilizesassessment andevaluationstrategiestoassess and evaluate student learning.

Participatesincourse/programdesign andevaluation ofoutcomesin order toformulateand evaluatecourseoutcomes, anddesign courses/programs that reflect contemporary health care trends.

Serves asachangeagent andleader.

Responsible for providing continuousqualityimprovementand acommitment to develop andmaintaincompetence in the role. 

Engagesinscholarshipandacknowledgesthe importance ofteaching asa scholarly activity.

Provides a broad understanding and knowledge of theeducational environmentwithin therespectivepractice.

Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships.Approachesconflict in a constructive mannerandassistsinidentifyingproblems, providingproblem resolution.

Other duties as assigned by theManager.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Integrityand ComplianceProgramand Codeof Conduct, as well as other policies and proceduresin order toensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Mustpossessa comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice and education normally obtained through aBachelor's degree in Nursing, andfive (5)years' experiencein a Nursing departmentwith increasing responsibility and interest in education,practiceandquality. 

Minimum of one(1)year in a formalNursingEducator role.  

Must have current Nursing License.

Ability to continuously learn and seek professional development and growth through journals, professional local,regionaland national affiliations, continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops to keep abreast of trends.

Experience in designing and developingvarious typesof training and curriculum, and training trainers to deliver content.

Broad knowledge of training and deployment principles, methodologies, and techniques,deliveryand evaluation.

Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
