Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) coordinator for Sidney Kimmel Medical College’s (SKMC) Department of Academic Affairs. The Education Coordinator III is responsible for all administrative and logistical aspects of the Case-Based Learning (CBL) component of the Year 1 and Year 2 SKMC curriculum. This position works collaboratively with the CBL Director, Phase 1 Director and small group leaders to ensure optimal delivery of the CBL component throughout the year. The Education Coordinator III works with SKMC Phase 1 Director to oversee all student absence requests and is responsible for absence notifications of students to faculty, and staff.Job Description
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Advance and contingency planning for student and faculty sessions, events, and meetings, as well as effectively problem solves including escalating issues to the CBL Directors to ensure smooth delivery of the curriculum.
- Supports program educational activities by ensuring accurate and timely content on the Canvas learning management system; performs and coordinates uploads of appropriate content; controls user access to the appropriate portions of the learning management system.
- Coordinates and communicates faculty deadlines and overseeing formatting and revisions of curricular materials. Track and coordinate faculty substitutions and communicate relevant information to students and faculty.
- Schedules and coordinates meetings for SKMC leadership and faculty, including maintaining meeting minutes, reserving rooms, AV, and catering; communicates minutes and follows-up to ensure completion of outstanding items promptly and accurately.
- Maintains accurate and current databases of all documents, rosters, timelines and procedures in shared network folders to optimize team performance.
- Creates and maintains detailed documentation of continuous quality improvement measures for the SKMC curriculum annually.
- During periods when students are not in session, complete assigned tasks and projects that support ongoing team needs and enhance the quality of the curriculum.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
A minimum of 5 years prior related experience preferred; higher education experience preferred.
