Education Naturalist (Parks And Recreation), Seasonal

The Stark County Park District is currently seeking Seasonal Education Naturalist(s) to develop and present a variety educational programming throughout Stark County.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in facilitating programs for school-aged children and the general public
• Assist with Special Events and hikes
• Assist with kayaking, Stand-Up-Paddleboard, archery activities
• Support programming needs of others in the Education Department.
• All other duties assigned.

Skills/Experience/Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of Ohio flora and fauna and Ohio history
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences
• Excellent customer service to internal and external customers, Park patrons, program attendees, volunteers and other customers
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors, around bodies of water, and in varying weather conditions including extreme heat or cold
• Must be able to walk, hike, climb to various park sites and in and around of bodies of water, and be able to handle infrequent loads in excess of 75 lbs. with or without assistance

Basic Requirements:

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university with a major in biology, education, recreation, or related field. Valid Ohio Driver's license required. Directly related experience in lieu of education to be considered as appropriate. This position will be held April through October 2025.

Pay: $11.00 -$12.00 per hour

Must be eligible for employment in the United States. Pre-employment background check and drug screening will be performed.
