This position serves as the Crisis Prevention and Physical Intervention staff trainer for Educational Programs.  Under the direct supervision of the Training Department Coordinator, the staff trainer is responsible for staff training and support to the Training Department, Regulatory Compliance and Licensing, and Educational Programs Project Manager.  The position will support and provide training in areas such as Safety Care, CPPI, New Staff Orientation, Car Clearance, and Pond Clearance. In addition, as part of the Training Department, this position will assist in coordinating and providing administrative support for on-campus training through outside providers for CPR and First Aid.  Additional duties will include administrative support for training records, and  Educational Programs projects. 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectationsinclude the following:

  • Provide training class instruction in Safety Care , CPPI, this may include night training sessions.

  • Coordinate First Aid and CPR trainings on-campus.

  • Assist as needed in the development of training sessions; offering alternative modes of training in a variety of delivery formats.

  • Assist in updating Safety Care CPPI curriculum and training materials.

  • Process all administrative training and certification records, maintain database and manage enrollment in courses.  

  • Communicate staff attendance and absences at training sessions to supervisors.

  • Provide timely response in addressing urgent training for specific issues.

  • Participate in the system of Car Clearance training conducted by Program Staff.

  • Coordinate staff car clearance 

  • Assist in preparing a catalog of training course offerings.

  • Assist in maintaining current information regarding training requirements from the Department of Education, Department of Health, Department of Mental Health, Office of Child Care Services and other regulatory agencies.

  • Assist in planning, organizing and conducting fire evacuation and lockdown drills.

  • Participate on campus wide committees as appropriate.

  • Provide administrative support of Educational Programs projects as appropriate

  • To perform other duties as assigned

  • Familiarity with and ability to navigate spreadsheets, docs, and databases including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite and internal performance management software.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree from college or university preferred; 2 years crisis prevention and physical intervention experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience working with in a school setting preferred.  

Physical Demands 

Generally, the essential functions performed are typical in a school environment and involves work with Special Needs students requiring lifting or exertion of up to 70 lbs. of force occasionally. 

The following shared salary range is what Perkins reasonably expects, in good faith, to pay for the position. The applicable range could differ based on experience and qualification.

$60,200.00-$85,025.00
