Tomorrow's Children is a residential treatment center with a school on grounds. There are two Educational Assistant positions available.
- Under the direction of the special education teacher assist the student(s) in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks, guiding and helping them, but not teaching them
- Under supervision of the special education teacher, work with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher
- Utilize education behavioral program in alignment with academic goals and IEP goals for each individual student. Ensure fidelity of education program.
- Patiently support student learning and engagement through lessons and work time using trauma informed care and restorative practices.
- Assumes supervisory role over the students when classroom teacher is out of the room
- Communicate vital information regarding the students to the teacher immediately and professionally
- Understands and respects the confidential nature of specific information relating to the students
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update documentation for each student including but not limited to: classroom binder, student education portfolio, student binder, behavioral reports, intervention, and documentation, attendance and engagement records.
- Support testing and assessment taking as assigned.
- Organize and/or assist with planning special events, off ground trips/field trips, and other outings as needed. Ensure enrichment activities are available for all students.
- Keep/track inventory of school, classroom, and curriculum supplies. Report a low inventory for ordering.
- Ensure classroom and workspaces within the school are maintained, cleaned, organized, safe, and orderly. It’s imperative that classrooms remain clutter free to ensure safety during times of escalation and/or crisis.
- Attend Education Meetings and Teacher Meetings as assigned. Attend other meetings as requested by Administration.
- Physically protect students in situations of imminent danger.
- Ensure training and certification is kept up to date and current. Including but not limited to: Children’s First Aid & CPR, Fire Safety, CCG, etc.
- Complete general cleaning duties as assigned.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour

We treat children with behavioral and emotional issues that require intensive care.
