EHS Associate - Environmental, Health, and Safety
Purpose of PositionThe EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer standards. This role ensures the facility operates safely, sustainably, and efficiently while meeting internal and external reporting obligations.This is a hands on role and often on the manufacturing plant floor.
ScopeThis role applies to the individual designated as the EHS Manager is authorized to make decisions related to EHS compliance, facility safety, and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Environmental, Health, and Safety Leadership: Serve as the primary EHS representative and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fire Code, TCPA, and other regulations. Customer Platform Management: Utilize platforms such as Ecovadis and CDP for reporting compliance data and safety metrics. Safety Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze key safety indicators, prepare monthly and quarterly reports. Utilities & Resource Management: Monitor and optimize utility consumption and implement eco-friendly practices. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Lead audits, inspections, and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances.
KPIs & Measurable Goals Maintain Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) below industry benchmark. Achieve zero lost-time incidents annually. 100% on-time submission of EHS data to customer platforms (Ecovadis, CDP). Ensure 100% completion of annual safety training for all employees.
Skills and Qualifications Education: Bachelor"s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum 5 years in EHS management within manufacturing or a similar industry. Certifications: OSHA 30-hour, EHS certifications (preferred). Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHS reporting platforms (Ecovadis, DCP), MS Office Suite, and data analytics. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Core Competencies Leadership: Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams. Compliance Expertise: Deep understanding of EHS regulations and customer compliance requirements. Analytical Skills: Skilled in data interpretation and trend analysis for continuous improvement. Communication: Clear and compelling reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
