Job Description
Join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, MN, where you'll have the opportunity to work in a city known for its vibrant culture, thriving tech industry, and high quality of life. As a key player in our projects, you'll be involved in every phase, from planning and design to integration and commissioning of electrical control systems. Responsibilities include: Leading electrical design and providing expert engineering input on a project basis. Driving the concept and engineering design development of electrical control systems. Overseeing and participating in schematic design, electrical panel design, PLC and HMI programming, and implementation of industrial LAN networks. Participating in scheduled design reviews with contractors, architects, engineering consultants, and other project team members. Developing, executing, supervising, and reviewing prototype testing and debugging of control systems. Visiting manufacturing/vendor sites to inspect and test components before shipping to the jobsite. Interfacing with field personnel and purchasing to determine and obtain required components. Staying current on advanced technology in control software and hardware development. Providing advanced technical expertise to support Sales and Marketing efforts. Taking responsibility for all phases of design-build, including design, production, and installation. Minimum Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder). B.S. Degree from an ABET-accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. E.I.T. credential and planning to take the P.E. exam. 5 years of experience with a B.S. or 3 years with an M.S. in a related engineering field. Proven experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and motor controllers. Strong proficiency in Rockwell Studio 5000 controls hardware and software. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and create detailed design documentation. Comprehensive understanding of control system architecture design and functional safety. Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Experience with control system programming and creating software design documentation. In-depth understanding of 3-phase motors and their control methods. Experience managing risks with unprecedented custom design projects. General knowledge of mechanical systems. At least 2 years' experience collaborating with clients to innovate and creatively solve multifaceted problems. Strong analytical skills with a logical approach to problem-solving. Ability to research, integrate, and apply innovative technologies with minimal oversight. Confidence to propose new ideas and humility to accept the best idea, regardless of origin. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines. Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, customers, or official contacts. Ability to work successfully within a team, cross-functionally, and independently. Willingness to travel (domestic and foreign) during installation and commissioning of projects, up to 5-10% of the time.
