Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team at a prominent global chemical firm near Cleveland, with the role based in Ashtabula, Ohio. This pivotal position ensures the enhancement and safety of our site's electrical and instrumentation systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical reliability and troubleshooting.
As a key member of our team, you will:
- Collaborate as a valuable engineering resource within our maintenance team. - Spearhead and participate in in-depth analyses of failure causes and incident investigations. - Develop comprehensive work scopes for engineering-driven projects. - Craft and implement preventive maintenance and standard work procedures. - Possess a solid understanding of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70B, and NFPA 70E standards. - Utilize knowledge in power system analysis and protective relays to troubleshoot and innovate. - Identify the root cause of instrument failures, recommending solutions to prevent recurrence. - Engage in the Process Safety Management framework to uphold safety standards. - Provide technical support across various projects, including turnarounds and capital projects. - Address complex or stubborn I&E challenges through expert troubleshooting. - Apply engineering protocols and national regulations to enhance site reliability. - Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to prioritize reliability enhancements. - Interpret and utilize P&ID drawings, instrumentation loop sheets, and more. - Make program adjustments to PLC systems based on operational needs. - Select and size instruments as well as control valves appropriately. - Exhibit excellent communication skills, ensuring effective daily interactions with field personnel.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline. - Ideally, 5 or more years of relevant industry experience.
Electrical Expertise:
- Familiarity with SKM power tools is advantageous. - Capable of troubleshooting motor controls up to 4160 volts. - Proficient in sizing conduits and cables for motors and related equipment. - Ability to collaborate with external vendors for complex studies on electrical systems.
