At Slifco Electric, we power some of the region's biggest and most complex projects across the Automotive, Heavy Industrial, Commercial, and Mission Critical sectors – from ground-up construction to major renovations. Our Building Information Modeling (BIM) team plays a vital role in ensuring electrical systems are accurately modeled, coordinated, and installation-ready before work reaches the field. We leverage advanced modeling and coordination processes to improve constructability, reduce conflicts, and drive efficient project execution. We're looking for a skilled BIM Specialist to support project BIM execution through detailed electrical modeling, coordination, and drawing development.
The Role:As a BIM Specialist, you will support the BIM Project Lead and Engineering team by developing, coordinating, and maintaining detailed electrical models used for construction and installation. You'll ensure high-quality deliverables, accurate coordination with other trades, and adherence to project requirements throughout the construction lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong individual to expand their expertise in electrical BIM and construction coordination on large, high-profile projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop detailed BIM models of electrical systems installed by Slifco Electric.
- Model electrical components including conduit systems, cable tray, equipment layouts, and associated infrastructure.
- Produce coordinated installation drawings derived from project models.
- Maintain model accuracy throughout project execution.
- Coordinate electrical models with other trades to identify and resolve clashes.
- Participate in internal and multi-trade coordination meetings.
- Implement revisions based on coordination outcomes and field feedback.
- Ensure models align with constructability and installation requirements.
- Revise and update released construction drawings as project changes occur.
- Assist BIM Engineers and BIM Project Leads with project deliverables.
- Support model updates tied to RFIs, design revisions, and field conditions.
- Maintain organized project files within company BIM platforms.
- Support BIM Project Lead with project coordination and modeling tasks.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and field teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Slifco BIM standards and workflows.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in electrical BIM modeling and coordination.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction systems and installation practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced project environments.
- Demonstrated higher-level modeling and coordination capabilities.

- Revit
- Navisworks
Preferred Software:
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- AutoCAD
- Bluebeam
- Microsoft Office Suite
