Job Description
Our client in Johnstown is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join the team
Duties:
- Provide technical support to optimize plant equipment operation.
- Assist in commissioning capital equipment projects and integrate best practices for equipment controls.
- Ensure equipment control systems meet safety standards and review project technical feasibility.
- Aid in vendor selection, equipment specification, and review for new equipment.
- Participate in product development programs and prepare/review documentation and drawings.
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Conduct transformer inspections, infrared panel testing, and PLC/VFD drive troubleshooting and programming (Siemens knowledge preferred).
- Operate and maintain overhead cranes (AC and DC) and supervise projects while working hands-on with the team.
- Troubleshoot power wiring and controls, with knowledge of 13.8 KV, 110v/220v, 480v, 2300v, 25 HZ A/C power, and 250 DC power.
- Understand 13.8 KV to 120 VAC Breaker Maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor"s and Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Sound proficiency in process control applications and database systems.
- Knowledge on electrical design and safety standards for industrial machinery - IEC, IEEE, NEMA, CE
- 3-5 Years electrical experience
