Electrical Design Technician

Job Summary

Join our team in Denver, CO, a vibrant city known for its stunning mountain views, thriving cultural scene, and booming tech industry. As a part of our electrical design team, you will be responsible for designing and documenting electrical systems, managing Revit BIM models, and collaborating with other discipline leads and team members. You will work under the direction of electrical discipline or project leads, showcasing your expertise in Revit and other software platforms to create and manage fully coordinated 3D models and 2D construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Use Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD software platforms to create and manage content for 3D models across all design disciplines.
• Coordinate with designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers to ensure design intent is captured in constructable deliverables.
• Develop clash-free 3D models and 2D construction drawings.
• Follow client design and modeling standards.

Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience.
• Understanding of data center environments.
• Knowledge and design experience with power, cable routing, and lighting systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and one-line diagrams.
